Guidelines for authors
Journal “Bulletin of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Mathematics, computer sciences, mechanics”
Journal website: https://bulmathmc.enu.kz/
The Editorial Board requests authors to familiarize themselves with the editorial policy of the journal, general information about the journal, the manuscript review procedure, publication ethics, and these Instructions for Authors prior to submission. Failure to comply with the established requirements may result in delays in the publication process.
1. Submission of a manuscript to the Editorial Office implies the author’s (authors’) consent to grant the Publisher — L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University — the right to publish the article in the journal and to republish it in any foreign language.
2. The Editorial Office (see the online submission instructions available on the journal website https://bulmathmc.enu.kz/) accepts TeX and PDF files prepared using the LaTeX publishing system, with mandatory use of the original journal style file (available for download on the journal website https://bulmathmc.enu.kz/).
Authors must submit two versions of the manuscript, one of which must not contain any information about the authors (full name, affiliation, author information). An anonymized version is required for double-blind peer review.
Authors must also submit a cover letter (template available on the journal website https://bulmathmc.enu.kz/).
Manuscript files should be named using the first 4–5 words of the article title.
3. The journal publishes the following types of materials:
-
research articles;
-
short communications;
-
leading articles of an issue;
-
the “In Memoriam” section.
4. The length of a research article should be 7 to 16 pages, and that of a short communication 5 to 7 pages. Abstracts, keywords, references, references list (References), and author information in Kazakh, Russian, and English are not included in the page count.
Manuscripts exceeding the specified length may be accepted for publication only in exceptional cases by a special decision of the Editorial Board.
5. Research articles and short communications must represent a complete and self-contained study, including a detailed formulation of the problem, full justification of the research objective in the context of the development of the field, and a clear statement of the obtained results. Depending on the nature of the work, the manuscript must contain, separately or in combination, the following elements:
-
necessary notation and definitions to ensure comprehension of the text;
-
formulation of the problem addressed in the article;
-
historical background of the problem with complete references indicating who and when obtained prior results;
-
justification of the necessity and relevance of the problem, which is a crucial part of any scientific work;
-
precise formulation and description of the proposed solution;
-
detailed justification of the novelty of the results in relation to previously known results;
-
the solution must be supported by detailed reasoning and proofs.
Failure to comply with any of these requirements results in rejection of the manuscript without consideration.
A leading article of an issue is devoted to a specific topic or research direction based on fundamental results, with further developments relevant to Kazakhstan and integration into the international scientific community, without restrictions on the presentation format.
The “In Memoriam” section is devoted to the legacy of distinguished representatives of the scientific community in the journal’s fields.
6. The manuscript text must begin with the GRNTI classification code (International Classification of Scientific and Technical Information; determined at http://grnti.ru/), followed by the initials and surnames of the authors, full affiliation, city, country, authors’ e-mail addresses, title of the article, abstract, and keywords.
The abstract must contain 100–300 words, must not include complex formulas, must not repeat the article title, must not contain references to the main text or bibliography, and must concisely reflect the content of the article while preserving its structure.
Keywords (no more than 7 words or phrases) should reflect the main content of the article, define the research area, and appear in the text. Keywords must be separated by semicolons.
Tables must be included directly in the text, numbered, and referenced in the manuscript. Figures and graphs must be provided in standard formats: PS, PDF, TIFF, GIF, JPEG, BMP, PCX. Bitmap images must have a resolution of 600 dpi. All details must be clearly visible.
The reference list must include only those sources cited in the manuscript, numbered either in the order of citation or alphabetically. References to unpublished works whose results are used in proofs are not permitted.
Authors are advised to exclude page numbers in references and to follow this template: chapter number, section number, item number, theorem (lemma, proposition, remark) number, formula number.
For example: “see [3; §7, Lemma 6]”; “see [2; remark to Theorem 5]”.
Otherwise, incorrect references may appear when preparing the English version of the article.
